Important Changes to UK Import fees for Commercial Pets
We have been informed by our London pet relocation agent that the current fees for commercial imports into the United Kingdom (UK) are no longer valid. The new fees that we have been notified of have been back dated to 30th June 2018, technically making the new fees effective immediately.
In the meantime please see below the approximate charges that are in effect for new arrivals into the UK. A kind reminder that EU-certificates (Annex I) are used for commercial pet flights and owners unable to accompany their pet within the 10 day window (ie. 5 days before/5 days after the pet’s arrival into the UK). Annex I certificates should also be used when there are more than 5 pets travelling to the UK. The most updated version can be request through DEFRA / R&D Capital Logistics – any older version Annex I certificate resulting in additional charges on arrival and the issuing of a UK pet passport for each pet on that consignment which will be after the following fees.
Commercial fees per certificate at London Heathrow Airport will be:
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00: £57.00 per certificate
Monday to Friday after 17:00: £261.00 per certificate
Weekends and Bank Holidays: £306.00 per certificate
Commercial fees per certificate at London Gatwick Airport will be:
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00: £121.00 per certificate
Monday to Friday after 17:00: £261.00 per certificate
Weekends and Bank Holidays: £306.00 per certificate
**Please note that if paperwork checks have any non-compliances with the pet travel scheme or a pet arrives into the UK on commercial paperwork without having notified DEFRA there are now additional charges on arrival. These charges are still being confirmed and it will be the owners responsibility to pay these fees before pet release should they occur on landing. Likewise any pets that land into the UK without sufficient notice, two UK working days prior, may occur additional fees and DEFRA may refuse to check paperwork until the next working day.
